Question 1 of 6

Which app do you use most for everyday messaging?

SMS isn't encrypted — your carrier logs every message and call record, and law enforcement can subpoena it without a warrant in most countries. Facebook Messenger stores your message history indefinitely on Meta's servers. WhatsApp encrypts content but hands metadata (who you talk to, when, how often) to Meta and complies with law enforcement requests. Signal encrypts everything and has virtually no metadata to hand over — they've proven this in court.
